Blowing out candles!

Happy Birthday Wyatt! We celebrated Wyatt's 2nd birthday party yesterday with some little friends and family. It was an elmo themed party, and was lots of fun. There was a bit of a blizzard, but most people made it. We decorated oranments with Elmo stickers, and had subs and cupcakes. It was fun. Wyatt loved his gifts, especially the fake leaf blower from Grandpa Bob. He loves blowing with him in the summer. I guess he can blow the snow with it for now. I can't believe its been 2 years since he was born. Time does fly. He is such a little boy now, not so much a baby. Our next feat is going to be training that I might start after Christmas. He is showing signs of being ready, but from what I have heard 2 is young for a boy. Tomorrow we go for our 2 year check up and shots.... no fun! Then, Nini, Marit and Katie come to town for 9 days, so that should be a lot of fun. Wyatt loves to play with them. Wyatt loves to play in the snow, so maybe they will be brave and go out with him. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! Here are some picts of the fun day!

Let it Snow!

Cute little Wyatt at Thanksgiving at Fran's.
Danielle's 30th Birthday party..... Fun night out!

Grandpa Bob took some photos in front of the tree

Wow, there is a lot of snow outside! Wyatt and I went out to play yesterday afternoon, and he just loved it. He didn't like getting all the gear on, but once we were outside, there was no going in. He has his own little shovel and he got a real kick out of it.

I am trying to think what went on this last week....... We went to ecfe, and he did better, only a little crying. We also went to a few stores to get some last minute Christmas gifts. He loves toys r us.... I have to bribe him with buying him something to get him out of there. He takes the toys off the shelf and puts them in my cart. Oh, I almost forgot..... we went to see Santa last Satuday, but he wouldn't sit on his lap or really go near him to get the candy cane. Rod was really bummed.... but I reminded him that we have lots of years to sit on Santa's lap, so maybe next year!

This week we have ecfe tomorrow, and Saturday we have a Christmas party for the kids at a neighbors, and then soon.... Wyatt will be 2 ! I can't believe it! Here are a few pictures... The first is my friend Danielle's birthday party Rod and I went to downtown. Itwas a lot of fun! The next is a pict Grandpa Bob took of us this last weekend. There is also one of Wyatt at Thanksgiving.
Enjoy the snow!

Gobble Gobble!

Happy belated Thanksgiving! We got to celebrate Turkey Day 2 times. On Thursday at Rod's sister's house, and on Saturday at my dad's girlfriend's Cindy's house. Lots of good food was eaten, but Wyatt had little interest in any of it. Sometimes I wonder how he has so much energy when he barely eats anything. He had lots of fun playing with his cousins though. Since its just he and I at home, he gets really excited to be around other little ones. Friday morning I got up and went shopping at 5am... never again! I got a few things, but the savings wasn't worth how early I got up. :) Then we took Wyatt to a new hands on play center in Woodbury called Little Kids, Big City. It was really cool, and Wyatt loved all the pretend city playscapes, especially the post office. It was fun having Rod around for 4 days... but then came today and we are back in the routine of things. This week we are going to check out a Montessori preschool for next fall, going to ECFE, and that's about it! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I will post pictures soon!

Georgia on my mind!

Hey there-- Its been a while since I have blogged last. Sorry about that. I am writing from my mom's office in Atlanta. Wyatt and I flew down here on Saturday and are staying until Friday. Wyatt was so good on the airplane ride, I was amazed. The last trip here with him was in august and it was rough..... he cried a lot. This time he was wonderful! They didn't believe me at the gate that he wasn't 2 though, so I had to get his birth certificate on the way back. ( under 2 he goes for free :) It those long legs I think! We have had a lot of fun. My mom got him Thomas the train set and he has loved playing with it and taking the track apart. He also has been staying up way to late! They just don't want to stop playing with him I guess. He really has been a good boy though. It really makes me wish my mom and sisters lived closer so we could all spend more time together! But, we do miss Daddy, so we will have to come home! Take care, and I will update with some new pictures soon!

Wyatt's first Hair cut

Wyatt and Dad at home with their new do's.
Trying to hide from the lady..... that didn't work.

First We tried to bribe him with a sucker.... no luck!

After sitting with Mommy didn't work, we tried standing with Dad!

Wyatt had his first hair cut this morning. I never thought a hair cut would be a scary experience for an almost 2 year old, but boy was I wrong." Wild Child" is a hair place totally geared for kids with TV's with elmo at every station, and candy and toys, but none of that seemed to matter. Rod and I both had to hold him down to get the mullet trimmed up. It was pretty quick, but he cried the entire time. We didn't get a lot cut off, but he seems so much older now with the big boy haircut. I did give him dots when he was done, and that calmed him down. They even gave us a keep sake baggie of the hair for the baby book! Sorry for the sad pictures, but they are all we got! :)

Happy Halloween!

What a cute little monkey!

Wyatt handing out Candy with Mom

Trick or treating with Dad ! Yeah, I got some candy!

Wyatt loved playing with the pumpkins!

Mommy trying to kiss the monkey!
We definately had a great Halloween! Wyatt let me, without hassle, put his costume on and he was so excited to get outside and trick or treat. Rod got home early, we ate dinner, and then Rod took the little monkey out around the neighborhood with the other dad's and little kids. I have to admit I was a little dummed that I couldn't go with too, but someone had to pass out candy. :) We had lot of trick or treaters this year. He got home and got to eat some candy... he loves candy! I know we must be related when he went right for the dots! I love dots, so does my mom. Dots are in the blood! It was a great night. Wyatt went to bed as usual, and Rod went outside for a bonfire down the block and I wasn't feeling the best so I went to bed! Stay tuned for Wyatt's first haircut! Hope you all had a great night!

Halloween Monster Mash

Looks like the monkey has a cold!

What a cute little monkey! :)

Wyatt in the Bounce House. He loved it, and wouldn't come out!

Wyatt and Daddy before the halloween party

We had a pretty busy week this week... I am trying to think of all we did, but it seemed busy to me. Although I can do like 2 things in a week, and feel like I was so busy... when I really wasn't. We had school on Wednesday after being off for a week, and it didn't go that well. Wyatt cried right when we got into the room and wouldn't let me put him down. He played after a bit and then when it was time for me to leave he was really upset. I guess he cried on and off most of the time... he only likes one of the ladies, Ms. Amy, so if she had to go to another kid, he didn't like that. Hopefully next week is better! We do have a big weekend coming up... we have Ms. Ella Bailey sleeping over tonight, and we are taking her and Wyatt to the ECFE monster mash party. I am not one for big crowds, but they will have fun all dressed up. I will post a pict of them dressed up when I get one. Tomorrow we have our neighbors surprise 40th birthday party... hope he's not reading this! :) Then, I think on Sunday we will get Wyatt' s hair cut... he has a mullet going on that needs to be cut! If we were in Fergus Falls, it could fly, but here in Woodbury, not so much! Have a good weekend!

Bummer week

Long time, no blog!

Sorry for the lapse in blogging. We had a pretty rough week this past week. My Grandma Sparky Died last Sunday morning. I got to see her the day before she died and talk to her so I was greatful for that. We went down to Mankato on Wed night and stayed in a hotel and the funeral was yesterday. It was just so sad to see my Grandpa so upset. I did the eulogy and started to cry a few times, but got through it. Wyatt had a long couple days. Rod was on Wyatt duty a lot of the time, and I am so greatful that he is such a good dad and could keep him entertained. He did have to take him out during the funeral, but that is to be expected with any 2 year old I think! Marit is here until tomorrow. We are going to the MOA today, which will be a zoo with MEA, but Wyatt likes the rides. Have a good weekend!

Buckle the bike in

Maybe if you are taking my picture you won't catch me!

I know I shouldn't be climbing on the counter!

Yesterday we were playing outside and I was trying to get Wyatt to get into the carseat to go to Sam's Club. He picked up his bike and tried to put it into the car in the backseat next to his carseat. I asked him if he wanted the bike to go to sam's too, and he said yes. Then he got in the backseat and tried to buckle the bike in and freaked out until I would buckle it.... So, being the softie than I am, rather than telling him no, I buckled the bike in and then Wyatt was happy and we went to Sam's. As I was driving to Sam's, I looked in the rear view mirror and see the bike and Wyatt all buckled in.... I thought to myself... I never thought I would be the mom who would do something like buckling a bike in just to get my kid to sit in his carseat! I am such a pushover! Oh well.... got my stuff at Sam's and all was good.

As for other things last week, Wyatt did better as school, less crying than last time. He is sleeping in his big boy bed for most of the night, but still getting up and coming in our bed for part of the night! I swear my next child will not even know that our bed exists! Its a hard habit to break, and at 3am, I have no will power. We also went to an indoor playground with Wyatt's friend Luke. Today we are going to see my Aunt's mary and Judi, and tomorrow we are going to see my Grandma Sparky in the hospital in Mankato. Please Pray for her.
Have a great weekened!

The apple of our eye

Mommy pretending to pet the goat... then Wyatt grabbed the horns!
Making a run for it!

Here Ella, will you carry my pumpkin??

Feeding the billy Goat one piece at a time!

Today we went to Afton Apple Orchard with our friends The Bailey's. As you can see from the pictures, the highlight was feeding the animals at the petting zoo. I am not a real animal person, so I wouldn't touch them..... but Wyatt loved it! Wyatt had a lot of fun with ms. Ella who is quite the cute little girl. We also each picked a pumpkin from the patch and some apples so I can make apple crisp. I made it so much last year and the year before I hope Rod isn't too sick of it. :) As for other events that happened last week..... I got my hair cut, Wyatt did better at "school". He didn't cry the entire time I was gone... only half! Hey, its an improvement, so I will take what I can get! He knew all the actions to wheels on the bus, which made me pretty proud! Tomorrow we might head down to Mankato to see the Grandparents. Rod had the flu a few days ago, so hopefully he will be good enough to go tomorrow. Have a good week!

Great Fall Weekend...even with a bad cold!

I don't feel good mommy!

I love playing with my daddy!

This is actually the best picture of the three of us we could get :)

Wow, the weekends sure go fast don't they! Saturday I went to a baby shower and then we celebrated Grandma Alice's birthday. Wyatt got to play with his cousins Ava and Sofia and everyone had a good time. He has a pretty bad cold though, so he was up most of the night last night. I am still waiting for the day that the little man sleeps all night. His big boy bed gets delivered on tuesday, so maybe that is what it will take! I hope so! Today we went to the farmer's market looking for pumpkins, but they didn't have any. Wyatt got to play outside for a while watching Grandpa Bob and daddy get rid of whatever is eating away at our grass. It has big dead patches in it. This week is an exciting week. We get Wyatt's bedroom stuff and finally we get our kitchen table. We have been table less for over 2 months, so it will be nice to sit and eat once again! Oh, I almost forgot to update on our preschool last wednesday..... Yep, Wyatt cried for the whole 7 minutes I was away. I am hoping next week is better!

Have a good Week!

Chillin with mom last weekend

Last weekend Rod was at a retreat up north for work, so Wyatt and I had a few days to ourselves. Saturday we headed down to Mankato to see Great Grandparents Ralph and Sparky, and the rest of the Sleeper clan. Thankfully Wyatt slept almost the whole way. He is not a big fan of the car, so we try to plan trips so he will fall asleep on the way. When he woke up, we jammed to the mickey mouse CD, and before we knew it... we were there! My grandpa and Grandma love seeing and playing with Wyatt. After 5 girl grandchildren, he is the Grandson they never had! Wyatt was so happy to see Daddy on Sunday. Today I got the book Love and Logic by Jim Fray. It teaches disciplining in a more positive way. It got great reviews from a few people I know, so I am going to read it. Wyatt is creeping up on 2 years old, and meltdowns and tantrums are more frequent than they used to be, so I need to be educated! He is a really sweet boy, but still a little boy who loves to climb up on everything! ..... Other than that, Wyatt watched Grandpa Bob mow the entire lawn today. Wyatt just loves the outdoors. He would be outside all day if he could. Tomorrow is our second day of school. I hope he doesn't cry this time when I leave! Say a prayer! :) Happy Tuesday!

First Day of School

So today was our first day of "School." Wyatt and I are taking an early childhood class one day a week. I was definately more excited than he was I think. He was doing great until the part when the parents leave to have a discussion and the kids stay with the teachers. He screamed and cried out my mommy for the whole 10 minutes we were gone. I felt so bad! It almost made me cry. Next week we will be out of the room for 15 minutes, so we will see how it goes! Since Wyatt has only been with Grandparents and Rod and I , I can see how it would be scary.... Other than that, it was great. There were some really nice mom's I met, and the teacher's seemed really nice and were very nice about my concerns with his food allergies. I tried to get his picture taken in his new outfit and monkey backpack, but he wanted to hold the "samma" himself. So, the picture is one where he is chewing, and I quick snapped a shot.

My first Blog!

Hello Everyone!

So I decided to start "blogging." We will see how it goes. I am not very computer saavy, so hopefully I will figure it out. With family all over the country, I figured this is a great way to share what is going on with Wyatt and the rest of us. I hopefully will be able to keep this blog updated, but since I have a small window of time during Wyatt's naps, I can't guarantee anything!

As for Rod, Wyatt and I , we are doing good. Rod started his new job at Briggs about a month and a half ago, and likes it, but has been working a lot. Wyatt is just learning new words every day. He has discovered Barney on TV, and asks for Barney quite a bit. This summer we were outside for hours each day, usually squirting the hose or finding some water to play in, so it will be a transition having to be inside when it gets cold.

Also some big news...Wyatt's big boy bed is on its way, so Grandpa Bob painted Wyatt's new room. Hopefully Wyatt will like his big boy bed as he has never been a big fan of the crib. We are hoping that getting a new bed will entice him to sleep on his own all night long! We'll see!

Well, he is up from his nap... more to come later! Happy Tuesday!
